Organisations

Organisations on Impactful include charities, community groups, businesses, schools, and other groups working to make a positive impact. You can follow organisations to stay updated, join as a member, take part in their activities, and support them through fundraising.

Finding Organisations

You can discover organisations in several ways:

• Discover tab — tap the Organisations sub-tab to browse featured and all available organisations
• Feed — organisation cards appear in the main Feed alongside activities
• Search — use the search bar on the Discover tab to find organisations by name or cause
• Activity details — tap the organisation name on any activity to visit their profile

Viewing Organisation Details

An organisation's profile shows:

• Logo and banner — the organisation's branding
• Description — what they do and who they help
• Info — about the organisation and what they do
• Opportunities — volunteer opportunities they have posted (if available)
• Resources — learning materials and guides they have shared (if available)
• Fundraising — their Impact Coin donation total (if available)
• Privacy Policy — how the organisation handles your data (if available)
• Activities — current events and informal activities they are running

Following an Organisation

Following an organisation keeps you updated on their latest activities and news.

1. Open the organisation's profile
2. Tap the Follow button
3. You will now see their updates in your Feed

To unfollow, open their profile again and tap Unfollow.

Joining an Organisation

Some organisations offer membership, which gives you a closer connection and may unlock additional activities or benefits.

1. Open the organisation's profile
2. Tap Join (if membership is available)
3. Complete any required steps:
   • Consent forms — review and accept terms for data sharing
   • Required information — provide your name, email, or other details the organisation requests
   • Legal documents — accept any membership agreements
4. Submit your request

Membership Approval

Depending on the organisation's settings:

• Open — you are accepted immediately
• Approval required — the organisation reviews your request. You will receive a notification once they respond.
• Invite only — you can only join if the organisation sends you an invitation

Note: You can view your memberships from Profile > My Memberships or from the My Organisations tab on your My Impact dashboard.

Supporting Through Fundraising

You can donate your Impact Coins to organisations to support their work.

1. Open the organisation's profile
2. Tap the Fundraising section or Donate button
3. Enter the number of coins to donate
4. Confirm your donation

Donations count towards the organisation's leaderboard ranking and are permanent.

Viewing Organisation Activities

To see all activities from a specific organisation:

1. Open the organisation's profile
2. Tap the Activities tab
3. Browse their published events and informal activities
4. Tap any activity to view details and register

Tips

Tip: Follow organisations that match your interests to have their activities appear in your Feed. This makes it easy to find relevant opportunities without searching every time.

Tip: Check the Resources tab on organisation profiles for guides, learning materials, and helpful content related to their cause.
